Uncle Bill’s Music Barn offers professional musicians traveling across Texas an opportunity to add a house concert to their tour. We also promote local talent, musicians, and bands in and around Lubbock, as well as make the Barn available to the community. We welcome suggestions and ideas for house concerts in Lubbock; please contact us if you have a suggestion.
Uncle Bill’s Music Barn is located at 15002 Louisville in Lubbock, Texas. Click here for a map. The barn can seat 50 for dinner and 65 for a concert.
Originally constructed for horses, the barn was rebuilt in 2007 for music events, parties, receptions and services with funds from the estate of Van’s beloved Uncle Bill, the last survivor of Van’s parents’ generation.
The area to the west of the barn is a natural wetland surrounded by farms. The beautiful sunsets are in full view on most evenings above the rolling expanse of buffalo grass planted with crepe myrtle, oak, spruce, pine, and willow trees.
The limestone-bordered pond provides a home for large goldfish, koi, turtles, and frogs. A silver windmill overlooks the crushed-granite walking paths.
Van and Leslie Shaw
Van Shaw is a former member of the Neerly Brothers bluegrass band. He and Leslie play as the Two Sugars, offering bluegrass, blues, rock and roll, alternative rock, jazz, and pop music.
Van and Leslie host karoake parties, song writing workshops, house concerts, wedding receptions, praise and worship concerts, and other worship events.
Inspired by others in the Lubbock area doing house concerts, Van and Leslie partnered with Debra Moss to put their own version together. Their vision for Uncle Bill’s Music Barn is to promote fellowship in their home and specialize in dinner-and-a-show events. (Not all shows include a seated meal.)
